Javelin Pharmaceuticals Inc JAV:AMEX -  Shares soared 60.45% to $2.15 as Myriad Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company, has received a notice from Javelin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. of its intent to terminate the merger agreement under which Myriad would have acquired all of the outstanding shares of Javelin. Javelin is a pharmaceutical company. Both the companies are based in the US. The notice stated that Javelin has received a competing acquisition proposal from Hospira, Inc. that the Board of Directors of Javelin has determined to be a company superior proposal under the terms of the merger agreement. Accordingly, Javelin has expressed its intent to terminate the merger agreement effective after the close of business on April 16, 2010.

Palm Inc PALM:NASDAQ - Continues its uptrend as rumors that they are talking with Goldman & Sachs to look for a buyer. PALM's shares have been brought down hard as their earnings and smart phone market has dwindled. Shares are currently up 17.44% or $6.06.

Helicos BioSciences Corp HLCS:NASDAQ - This biotech sprouted out of no where. We found that earnings are tomorrow, perhaps insiders are leaking to others? Retailers might be gambling or have done their due diligence and think HLCS will report better than expected earnings.

Discovery Laboratories Inc DSCO(D*):NASDAQ - Another unusual biotech that sprouted, we could not find anything. Guessing that shorts are covering?

Smart Tek Solutions Inc STTN:OTC Bulletin Board Market -  Grass Roots has been compensated by STTN for the analysis of the report as they set a long term target of $1.47 based on the "On April 12, 2010 STTN announced projected Q1 2010 billings of $32 million and gross reportable revenue (in compliance with GAAP) in excess of $4 million. The $545,000 net profit is approximately 10% higher than previous estimates by Grass Roots."
